What is a Dental Bridge?

If you lose a tooth due to cavity or trauma, rest assured that we can replace it with a dental bridge. A bridge replaces the missing tooth using the adjacent teeth as an anchor.

Does a Dental Bridge look like a natural tooth?

A bridge, if done artistically, looks and functions like your natural tooth. The bridge is made in the lab with metal and/or porcelain and cemented on the teeth. The shade and shape of the bridge are matched to your natural teeth.

Why do I need to replace missing teeth?

Here are three great reasons to replace missing teeth:

1) Teeth hold each other in correct position. If one or more teeth are lost, adjacent and opposing teeth start to move and shift around. This will open up spaces in an unwanted area and jeopardize the health of teeth and gums leading to more tooth loss.

2) Less teeth leads to reduced chewing ability. Chewing the food completely ensures the health of digestive system and allows nutrient to be fully absorbed. This is even more important in senior years.

3) Missing teeth are not esthetic at all! It will show when you smile even more!

What is a Denture?

When there are many teeth lost, or the adjacent teeth are not healthy to support a bridge, a denture can be used. A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth.
